Dear all, I am also interrested in the blade profile. Since we, in Suriname (South America) , have low to very low heads, "propellor type" of turbine seems to be one of the options. In implementing this type of tubine efficient and appropriate blades are required. So, if there are some informations on this subject, I shall be pleased to hear from you. Thanks, Sieuw

Has anyone explored the use of boat propellers as runners in a propeller turbine? I have read about supposedly successful turbines in third world apps where the runner was made up of flat steel blades. It seems like the blade profile of boat propellers would be more efficient. They are certainly easy obtain. Secondly, if there is experience out there, how would one relate prop pitch to the conditions; ie. head and flow?
