Thanks a lot for your useful responses, both Nando and Thor... I'm located in Patagonia (Chubut - Argentina), and want to obtain 220V 50Hz. Yes, the dimensions of the turbine are right. Sure it has been designed for much more power than my hydro resource can give me, but really is a very well made machine and the price is not high. This is the cause which make me to ask you all these questions... The injector system has a servo motor which open and close the jet oriffice, regulating frequency from flow. The entire equipment for sale also has an electronic system for voltage regulation and some security options, monitoring and manually control options from house. All in perfect state, and guarateed from the present owner..!! In it's standard state, the pelton shaft also has a great flywheel which is a flat pulley drive to the generator. In case of decide to buy it, I think must rebuild the generator pulley for the best coupling ratio, because the increase of rotational speed. I know this is a great machine capable to deliver much more power than my site can, cost justify the purchase, and I'm trying to take a good decision... Your comments really helps...!!! Mario
--- HYDRO <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> escribió: --------------------------------- MARIO: Donde estas localizado ?. Why don't you think in a Turgo Turbine, it may cost less than the one you may buy. Check with Joe Hartvigsen his Web Page http://h-hydro.com and his emails [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] he sells them in plastic and stainless steel. Your site without calculating the friction losses seems to have around 9.5 KW and 19 KW respectively. Using the 450 mm Pelton data, the RPM may be around 968 RPM for your generator -- you have not indicated the frequency of the generator and the number of poles to define the required generator RPM. For this size it is best not to have multiplier belts but a direct drive between the Turbine and the Generator to save several % points. I , at this time, will not spend my time in calculating all the parameters, since the Pelton seems to be for much larger power generation -- can you certify the dimensions of the Pelton ?. I wonder about : Max buckets wide - 120mm What type of ELC controller are you going to have ?. Others may give you more information.
