For the motor or generator the number of poles defines the RPM at certain 
Frequency, so a motor used  for 50 or 60 HZ will have a RPM at 50 HZ equal 
to 5/6 of the 60 HZ RPM.

Consideration of Negative Slip when a motor and Positive Slip when a 
generator.
