Running tests on my wireless devices, I found that Ubuntu 14.10 on a Dell Latitude E6420 and Android 4.4.4 on a first-gen Moto X work fine. Oddly, my first try on the Dell in Firefox gave a few time-outs, so I tested with ping in Terminal and that worked, so I went back to Firefox and tried Chrome and both behaved properly this time.
