There are some problems with building a DSO installed Midgard on
Solaris. Building statically is not a problem, see

This is good. Configure uses cc explicitly, so the symlink should have
sufficed.

apxs is either broken or there is an older apxs in your path. 'which apxs'
will tell you what apxs is being used. Open it in an editor (it's a perl
script) and look up what CFG_SBINDIR and CFG_TARGET ar set to. This
is the httpd that the apxs you're looking at thinks it should work with.
If this is indeed an old version, remove it and make sure the newer apxs
is in your path.
