An already compiled PHP3? I'm sorry, you just don't.

If you have compiled it yourself, there will be a file named
config.status
in that directory. It holds the previous settings that PHP was compiled
with. If you just add '--with-midgard' you will have all the features
you previously had, plus Midgard.
