There's no Midgard tutorial, but if you look at some
key sections of the manual and hunt around the
VMUC example site I think you might find you can
get to first base without too much hassle.
Since the introduction to the manual is still nearly
empty, try starting at 'Using Midgard' (Appendex B.4,
http://www.midgard-project.org/manual/x1929.html)
for an introduction to articles and how to use them.
Also have a look at some of the descriptions of some
key article functions such as mgd_get_article
(http://www.midgard-project.org/manual/function.get-article.html)
and mgd_list_topic_articles
(http://www.midgard-project.org/manual/function.list-topic-articles.html).
Then use the Admin site to look around VMUC and to
find the associations between various parts of the site's
pages with the style, page and content components.
I found a pretty good way to do this is to make quick
and dirty modifications to parts of the site to see what
happens... sometimes the fastest way to find out
what a component does is to remove it and see what
breaks.
Kind of a crude approach, but there you go. Having
an off-line copy of the manual makes things easier, but
currently you have to get it from CVS, which is a
pain... any prospect of making a gziped version available
for download?
