The Monster package has mod_midgard and midgard-php (and mod_ssl)
built-in, so the shared module is not present (or needed). The
LoadModule directive tells apache to load (but not activate)
the module specified. Since the modules are an integral part
of Apache in the Monster package, the LoadModule directive is
not required (or even effective) for these modules.

The modules must still be 'AddModule'd to be activated. The MP
httpd.conf has these.

If you still experience problems with the MP, can you describe
them again? It's been a while, and I've lost some context.

Bye,
Emile
