I spend quite a bit of time scanning the list archives for
answers to particular questions, and I'd like to make better
use of this time by mining the information to help make
it available to others.
How about setting up a location on the Midgard
site where raw question/answer data from the archives
can be entered into articles by anyone? The
article fields should include at least the question,
the answer, maybe a title to briefly describe the
subject and a link to the applicable source in the archive.
Possibly this 'raw data' page could also be roughly
divided into subject areas.
This effort would be somewhat self-organizing, since
those looking for information would probably check the
manual first, then this 'raw data' page, then the list archive,
and if they find the answer in the archive, they can
contribute by moving it up into this 'raw data' page.
This unfiltered data could be edited and transferred to
the 'official' support documents on the site as part of
a second step, as you appear to be suggesting below:
