It works now.
I asked:
> Which entry is essential for the port? The part after : in name or the
> entry in port?
Now I know that name must NOT contain the port number and the port
column must be set to the port number.

Can you tell me a bit more about your configuration, I'm having still
problems with my 1.4b3 installation.
The mysql db is ok, php is running, the Midgard module is loaded by Apache,
but something is still wrong, it is around authentication, or files in the
wrong directories etc.
So pls. tell me:
- what did you add exactly in the Apache config file
- your root for the Midgard files
- what is in your Midgard mysql table "person" (id, user, password)
- that is written in the last lines of your Apache error-log
