You can install everything non-root, but it can hardly be called
convenient. You'll have to install apache, midgard-lib, mod_midgard and
midgard-php in a place that you have write access to.

Most hosting providers will not allow you to run persistent processes,
though, and since it runs non-root you will have tu run your site on a
non-standard port. Pretty clumsy.

So if you mean by dedicated you mean you have root access to the machine,
then yes, that would be a valid assessment.

However, at the moment several Midgard hosting options are available or
becoming available.

There's the list of midgard functions to access the database, and two
syntax additions:

<[template]> includes a named template part
&(varname); is like <? echo $varname; ?> but adds formatting specifiers to
autoformat the content of the variable.
