Not at all.  I used to do this for php3.

It's little problem.  If you want to RPM the current cvs directly its a case
of make dist-clean and then tar up the CVSDIR and dump in
/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
then, with the specfile in /usr/src/redhat/SPECS

you do

rpm -ba /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/midgard-php.spec

it it creates binary and source RPM's for you.

I will send you a shell script to do it neatly.
