Hi,
my name is Boris Wolf, i'm working for Amaze Ltd. in London.
Our main business is developing web sites. Recently we have
been looking into OpenSource solutions for content management
systems. So we learned about Midgard and seriously think about
using Midgard in one or more of our projects.
By doing so a couple of questions came up and i hope you'll be able
to answer those...
1. FEATURES: Midgard already comes with a bunch of nice features.
However, our customers request more functionality. In particular
A) a workflow process with several people approving a piece
of content before it becomes visible on the site including a
release/unrelease function
B) a version history with the ability to undo changes
C) storing binary files (images, pdf's etc.) within the content management
system rather than having the web server dealing with binary
files
D) staging/testing area as a private invisible version of the site to
become published or discarded at a later point in time
2. NEW RELEASE: Currently we are doing our testing with the
MadKing release 1.2.5. On your webpage I learned there was a
version 2.0 (addressing some of the feature issues) meant to be
released in the first quarter of 2000! What's up with that? Does
this version already exist? When do you expect it to be released?
3. DOCUMENTATION: Besides the Midgard webpage itself is there
any other place in the web where we can get further documentation on
the Midgard system?
4. SOURCE CODE: We are also considering adding functionality to
the Midgard system by modifying the source or adding code. Where
can we download the Midgard source code?
Hope to hear from you soon
best wishes,
Boris
