> 1. FEATURES: Midgard already comes with a bunch of nice features.

Can be accomplishe by adding extendable record fields to articles
(parameters).
> B) a version history with the ability to undo changes
Planned for the upcoming version. There are ways to do it with the current
release which require more help from the actual web application.
> C) storing binary files (images, pdf's etc.) within the content management

Allready in the beta.
> D) staging/testing area as a private invisible version of the site to
> become published or discarded at a later point in time
Can be done to some extent n the current version but requires
application-level logic. We're looking at intergrating this feature in the
upcoming version.
> 2. NEW RELEASE: Currently we are doing our testing with the

Work on 2.0 has been restarted, but only recently. We're looking at having
the design don in fall 2000, with a protoype (nowhere near production
stuff though).

No. But Aurora (http://www.aurora-linux.com/) has recently hired a
full-time document author to help us get the manual to a good level.
> 4. SOURCE CODE: We are also considering adding functionality to

Depends on which version you want. The latest beta can be found at
http://www.midgard-project.org/topic/214.html, the CVS instructions at
http://www.midgard-project.org/article/1000.html
