True. Also, as long as the midgard-php isn't integrated into the main PHP
stream an '--with-deprecated-syntax' could provide backward compatibility.
And usually one would only upgrade a production server if the newer
version brings functionality that is absolutely needed, or fixes a bug
that isn't acceptable. So with the pain, there would always be a price.

I would miss the syntax though, I've gotten kinda attached to it.
