If you enable 'auth' the page will demand a username+ password upon
access. The author field is not used in the authentication.

Well, yes, admin will always be able to access any part of the site.
You could do a membership check in a code-init page element but since
admin can change it himself (or even access the database directly
without using Midgard at all) that doesn't buy you much in terms of
confidentiality.
