Hi,

The new manual is available within the Annotations forum, follow the
"Requirements" link at http://www.midgard-project.org/

The version you see here is ready for public review. It's by no means a
final document. This means their are chapters and sections which are Alpha
(no content) and Beta (incomplete). The immediate challange is to complete
the sections which are Beta by adding content, copy editing and style
checking.

The Table of Contents (TOC) will have a state of the chapter statement.
Currently the TOC read:
1. Concepts and features

The state of the chapter will appear as:
1. Concepts and features (beta)

The state which appears in parenthices will be either Alpha or Beta.
Sections which are Stable will not include a statement.

These statements should help readers and writers know what parts of the
manual require work. For the moment, we can assume their are no stable
sections. We'll be applying a revision system.

I'll spend the weekend working on copy and style editing this document. It
can be assumed that all parts of the manual are either Alpha or Beta.

The Chicago Manual of Style is our guide. The current document has not
been copy or style edited.

Please review the document and offer your feedback.

There are now two seperate documents in the Annotations system; mgd20,
Jean-Phillipe's requirements document for the design of Midgard 2.0 and
the "Midgard 1.4" which is the "Official" Midgard manual. All materials in
this manual are licensed GFDL. If you wish to contribute a chapter for
inclusion in this document, it must be licensed GFDL. Documents which
aren't GFDL can be published on the Web site but they cannot be part of
the "Official" manual.

Contributions in the form of Annotations will be reviewed by an editor and
if accepted for inclusion rewritten and commited to the accepted version of
the document which is commited to CVS.

Thank You

Ron Parker
