The crew thought the loadsheet said the zero was in kilos instead of pounds.

Especially by those who brought us Germanwings, now rebranded Eurowings, as a
result.
Recently one of their CRJs left Katowice with no fuel and had to turn back -
not even enough on board to get the 450 nm to Frankfurt. And then he asked to
return to the wrong airport - Krakow instead of Katowice, which required an
ATCO intervention to correct.
Something not quite right with vaunted LH Ops these days?

The two-persons in the cockpit rule should have been ironclad from the
outset. Another nail in the coffin of "single pilot" fantasizing.

LUFTHANSA: 10 MINUTES WITHOUT A PILOT – INCIDENT KEPT SECRET FOR A YEAR
On February 17, 2024, a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Seville flew for
nearly 10 minutes with no pilot at the controls.
The co-pilot, alone in the cockpit while the captain was in the lavatory,
suffered a sudden and severe medical episode. The Airbus A321, carrying 199
passengers and six crew, stayed in stable autopilot—but there was no response
to repeated calls from air traffic control.
The captain, locked out, tried five times to re-enter using the standard code
before triggering emergency override access. By the time the door opened, the
co-pilot was regaining consciousness. A doctor on board assisted, and the
flight was diverted to Madrid.
And yet, the public heard nothing until now. Lufthansa and Spanish authorities
kept the incident under wraps for over a year, until the release of the
hashtag#CIAIAC’s official investigation report in May 2025.
The cause? An undiagnosed neurological condition. The co-pilot’s pilot license
has since been suspended.
This rare but serious event has reignited debate around aviation safety.
Should airlines reinstate the two-person cockpit rule during flight?
