Hi Eric,
Lisa, a Mifos contractor, remarked that she has seen some testing errors in
Linux environments. Mifos is being developed on Windows for the most part.
She mentioned that she was going to be looking onto these errors more soon.
To get a build of Mifos deployed, I would suggest that you build without
running the tests. I use "ant deploy". There is an past developer thread
that I entered on this subject named "JUnit Test Suite errors" on
2007-09-28. Take a look at Van's and Lisa's remarks.
FYI: Our Linux environments are all:
O/S Fedora Core 6
JBoss 4.0.5
Sun JDK 1.6.0_02
My SQL 50.27
Apache Ant 1.0.7
We have changed our JDK to 1.5.0_13 on XP systems to match the Mifos build
and test server configurations and will probably change our Linux servers as
well
Gary

Subject: Re: [Mifos-developer] test suite failure
My environment is Linux Fedora 7 64 bits!
For the other details (JDK, MySql version), I will let you know later today
(when I get back home) as I am not totally sure of the versions.
So, it looks like the errors are because of running that on Fedora (6 or 7).
Do we know why we have such error? Should that be investigated?

Hello Eric,
These JUnit Test Suite errors look like the same errors that we are getting
building Mifos running Linux, Fedora Core 6. What is you environment?

Thanks for sending this along. I'm starting to take a look at this and
I think some of the errors look familiar to what others experienced in
the summer.
While we take a look at your test results, could you also send along
your platform/software stack information? (OS, application server, java
version, mysql version, etc)
Also, did this fail consistently or did you just try running it once?
It would be good to know if the failure is consistent.

I'm pretty sure the build is not broken in general because recent builds
did not fail on the build server: http://72.167.41.183:8085/bamboo/
This seems to be something specific to your environment. In general,
you can verify against the build server to check if it's a general issue
or something specific to your environment.
Thanks,
Aliya
