I go through the bugs assigned to triage on a weekly basis and try to close out any duplicates, however, that being said, prior to opening a new bug, it is best practice to go through the issue tracker and see if your issue has already been opened. You can do this by querying the issue tracker DB. There are some tips querying the issue tracker on this page: https://www.dev.java.net/scdocs/ddIssues_Query In your case, I don't think there's a duplicate issue in the issue tracker already, so that's a great new find!
