Adam Monsen commented on MIFOS-2726:
------------------------------------
> As far as I understand project description, at
> the end the shutdown mechanism should looks like:
Your description is correct, except that there is only *one* configurable
amount of time.
1. admin user initiates shutdown procedure
2. logged-in users are notified that shutdown is imminent
3. all new logins are immediately prevented
4. countdown to preventing all logins continues
5. when countdown completes, all users--logged in or otherwise--are redirected
to the login page and prevented from logging in
Batch jobs should not pose a new problem, should they? I would think that if
shutdown is due to occur in 30 minutes, but batch jobs will run in 10 minutes,
the batch job login prevention mechanism would log everyone out and supersede
the shutdown. I suppose it would also be nice if the administrator were
prevented from scheduling a shutdown if it will conflict with batch jobs, but
that sounds like a separate enhancement.
By "reports" I assume you mean BIRT reports? I was assuming the notification to
logged in users proposed in MIFOS-2727 also would be shown on report pages, so
hopefully that will work.
