This is one of the biggest issues for Al Majmoua now, it affects a large amount
of loans where overpayments are made (and we handle these by adding an
overpayment fee) or where late penalties are applied on the last installment
(1000s of loans).
The workaround idea is to add the fee or penalty to the client, but this is not
ideal for a few reasons
1) not clear which loan had late penalties, and this is important to track
because they base the interest rate of the next loan on the number of late
penalties in the previous loan.
2) must be added on the client meeting date (even with LSIM) -- is that a bug
on its own?
So, in practice this workaround is too difficult to perform, so we have been
adding a text note to the client that explains the overpayment, and we have
just been letting penalties pile up without being entered, which may lead to
issues later.
