Branch office tree - able to make child office 3rd state

With new holiday branch office tree control, I've been able to click on the
control occasionally and get the control to be "shaded", so it isn't checked or
unchecked. Not sure what the state means for a office that has no offices
below it.
I'm not sure how to repro this consistently with the left mouse button, but I
have seen it by clicking around on the left mouse button. However, I can
consistently see this state if I click on the checkbox with my center mouse
button.
