Van Mittal-Henkle commented on MIFOS-3242:
------------------------------------------
I spoke to Jos and his suggestion was to do this using Pentaho Data Integration
with an approach of:
1) generate XML output based on a SQL query
2) transform the XML using XSLT into the target XBRL output format
I took some steps in this direction using the PDI "Spoon" tool. What I was
able to put together was a job that went:
1) start
2) My Transformation (execute SQL to create an XML file)
3) XSL transformation (transform the query output XML to the XBRL)
In "My Transformation" it went:
1) Table input (define and execute the SQL query)
2) XML output (take the SQL output and dump to an XML file)
I did not write the XSLT to do the final transformation, but the rest of it
seemed to work. I will try uploading the test files that I put together,
though note that they have paths hard coded that are particular to my box.
By using the PDI tools (spoon/kettle) we should be able to take advantage of
things like scheduling, error handling and email distribution.

> To integrate with MIX, they take an XBRL format (attached). this story is to
> generate an XBRL using Pentaho that has one data point of # of active
> borrowers for the MFI
> Some of the xbrl will be static and must be in there, some of it we will
> determine ourselves what to put (for example, comments), and others are
> information populated from Mifos (like # of active borrowers, MFI name, etc)
