Recent failures such as MIFOS-3712 are cases where batch jobs were failing for
multiple days but no one was aware of it.
Mifos should have an easy way for an administrator to be alerted to when a
batch job has failed.
Jakub has recently worked to upgrade the batch job functionality to use Spring
Batch/Quartz. I believe that Spring batch provides a nice way to add error
handling and it should be quite doable to hook up an email notification. The
email address could come from a new configuration property like
admin.email.address.
