Inconsistancy in Loan Transaction History for Dates

Just looking at a loan with some transactions. There were two transactions
entered for 11/17 and 11/23 that should up in the Recenty Activity.
When I click on ³View Transaction History², I see those payments listed and
there are two dates listed. ³Date² and ³Date Posted², which are both the
same dates (11/18 and 11/24 respectively).
So the transactions were entered in one day later than the actual
transaction was occurred. Seems to me that transaction date should still
show up (the 11/17 and 11/23) on this page. I tried looking for the
functional spec for this view, but didn¹t find anything on mifos.org.
Thoughts? Should one of those dates be equal to the transaction date or
should we add a new column?
Also, this may be an opportunity for us to nail down the different dates
attached to a transaction and enter some enhancements to get this to sync up
between the UI and database. Quickly, off the top of my head, I see the
following for a loan payment -
Create Date: Date the record was entered into mifos (should be a time stamp)
Due Date: Date the payment was due
Transaction Date: Date the actual transaction was conducted
Receipt Date: Option receipt field with attached date

It feels like in this (and Gayl Kennedy's follow-up), were seeing some
inconsistent behavior and some data we would like to see is not showing up. If
we enter a backdated transaction, it seems to me that in the transaction
history it should list the date the transaction physically occurred and not
just when it was entered into Mifos (but that should be displayed as well). It
also appears we may be getting different behavior depending on how the entry
was made (CSE vs manual).
I see this as the following:
1. TEst these scenarios to see if their behavior is consistant
- CSE of on-time payments, made on the day of the transactions
- CSE of on-time payments, made on a day later than the actual transactions
(date of trans was 12/6, entry into mifos was 12/8)
- Manual entry of on-time payments, on the day of the transaction
- Manual entry of on-time payments, made on a day after the actual transaction
- Manual entry of late payment, made on a day of the late payment
- Manual entry of late payment, made on a day later than the actual transaction
2. Evaluate naming convention of dates within the Mifos UI and database to
validate they are
* Consistant in naming
* consistant in how they are used (are different functions populating them the
same way?)
- I could see this as a separate task item.
