Hi there,
When I built 1.0-- it was supposed to have the functionality Gigi describes...
basically when editing the savings product, an option to apply to "Only New
Accounts" or "All active accounts"-- but I think it's different for each
feature. ie, pretty sure that savings interest rate changes would always apply
to all accounts. But agree it makes sense for mandatory savings amounts.
This shoudl continue to be a low priority work item since no MFIs in India use
savings. Also, probably the right functionality to build is to have mandatory
savings deposits associated with a loan-- since that's how must MFIs handle it.
Note that we'll probably also want this "cascading" feature for our client
fees-- so if/when an MFI raises their yearly membership fee, they don't have to
manually re-apply a ton of loans.
