Description:

Mifos X is 'multi-tenanted'. There is one mifosx database per tenant. On each request, the database (datasource) that the user needs to point to is derived from the request's tenantIdentifer parameter (which is authenticated etc).
How best do we pass down this 'datasource' to any Pentaho reports created?
Currently, the work-around is to duplicate standard reports for each tenant created and edit them so that their datasource points to the right database for the tenant. This duplication makes report management more difficult and, more seriously, editing can go wrong and if it did its possible that one tenant might see another's data.
Note: Obviously, any Mifos X Pentaho report uploaded to a multi-tenant hosting (you can of course just have Mifos X support one tenant) would need to abide and use the 'datasource contract' decided upon.
In addition to the datasource, it's probably that the current user id or its office hierarchy value needs to be passed to (to ensure data scoping) but this is a less matter.
I can discuss finer details further with anyone who takes this issue up.
