What Sander has said here is an important ideal that the platform and API have been and will continue to be developed with. Avoid 'over constraining' functionality at that level. Let products that are developed on top of the platform and API decide what constraints should be put in place.
an example of functionality that went into platform/api that breaks this is the product mix functionality which is just a constraint based what combination of products can somebody use which could easily of been done in the App for the praticular customer.
