So after talking to a few people the general consensus is that while 2 (Ability to set up dependent products) would be very nice to have , 1 (loan cycle at a product level) is a requirement for many MFI's
So we will implement the feature identical to the Mifos implementation first off and then circle back to dependent products later (as required). The only difference during implementation would be that there would be no API limit of the number of cycles that can be added (Mifos only allows 5)
Only the Community app would be integrating this updated Loan Product API (while the reference app would not break, it would not be updated to allow loan cycles) as a part of moving a core dev over to the community app.
