This feature is needed for Self-Help groups (SHGs).
SHGs are usually autonomous - and will have their own rules regarding interest posting dates.
For example: If an SHG meets on every 20th of the month, they may want the interest also to be posted to members on the same day (early morning) and the interest available in their accounts before the meeting starts.
As a first step to support this feature:
a) Add an attribute (checkbox) for savings account product to specify if interest posting will be the same as meeting date
b) For such savings accounts of such products , an additional attribute (periodic interest posting day/date) to be internally maintained
c) Add a A new button on screen ("New JLG Saving" to be added against the members of groups to open a savings account which will inherit the interest posting date from the meeting (similar to the " JLG loans Loans Application" button) .
d) When the savings account is created - such accounts will calculate and post interest on the group meeting date (which internally will be stored against each savings account as the interest posting date ) .
e) if a savings account is created based on the existing "New Savings" button, then the Savings account will be treated as an "Individual Savings account" and the interest posting date for such accounts will be stored as blank.
f) For savings account with the "interest posting date" is blank or null, the interest will be computed and posted at next period beginning (as Mifos X currently does)
Interest posting batch job to be modified to post interest on the specific dates date that is stored against the savings account instead of the beginning of next period (which is the current default)
The following will NOT be done immediately and will be taken up in the future:
If this group changes their meeting day/date, then it will not automatically change the interest posting date for the savings accounts for members under this group. The savings accounts will continue to post interest on the earlier meeting date as this is what is stored against the savings account. (to change this a data migration will need to be done manually for the savings accounts under this group)
