I don't believe we have this field for loan and savings accounts. Currently you cannot search on this ID-- but this is a request that has come in before. I know that a user in Nigeria has built functionality to change the way the Mifos generated IDs-- I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you more about his experience. From what I've heard, it wasn't an easy change. :-) It would be helpful to learn more about why you need this functionality-- this may allow us to provide better recommendations for your problem. We have one MFI, for example, who is using multiple systems to manage different aspects of their operations. Each system generates a different user ID-- so they're planning to build a simple external database to act as a client ID mapping database. Not sure if something like that might be helpful for you....
