This solution worked. I had to re-install mifos afresh now I get the
following error when I try to Define new products (savings)
*Loan product: Page expired since the action is not permissible. Click
on the tabs above to proceed.
savings product: Fatal chart of accounts error: account with general
ledger code 24000 not found.
fees: - gives a blank page, no error message

is by editing /etc/default/tomcat6. At the end of the file create the
MIFOS_CONF environment variable then restart tomcat:
$ sudo service tomcat6 restart
Btw,
You can also set JAVA_OPTS parameters in /etc/default/tomcat6 (i.e.
for PermGen error)

applicationConfigurtion.custom.properties. I checked it and it
didn't work. I'm rebuilding the database again for a fresh

but it didn't read the file to reflect the currency code changes I made
