Explained in reply to Ryan below.

I see in the Tomcat logs that the ConfigurationLocator finds both my /
opt/apache-tomcat-6.0.29/webapps/mifos/conf/
applicationConfiguration.custom.properties and /opt/apache-
tomcat-6.0.29/webapps/mifos/conf/local.properties custom
configurations but I don't see a mention of it finding my
mifosBeanConfig.custom.xml and mifosChartOfAccounts.custom.xml files
(which are in the same directory in the MIFOS_PATH).

Now having said that, I just realised that mifosBeanConfig.custom.xml
and mifosChartOfAccounts.custom.xml are not supposed to be in the
MIFOS_PATH but in the application server path...grrr. I don't know
why I did not see that before. Probably been looking at it to much
not seeing any obvious errors (there weren't). So I moved these two
custom configs in /opt/apache-tomcat-6.0.29/lib/ and there were picked
up.

Now, I have to either ask our client to input the data again (no
clients or transactions yet) or find a way to migrate without breaking
anything.

Thank you,
