Agreed. We are going to do everything we can to get upgraded. We got from 1.3
to 1.5 ok, but then ran into problems. I am trying to find out from the
deployment resource what happened.
If my resource is not able to get over the hump, is there another resource that
we could tap into to help us as we go? What are your thoughts?

As Emily says, I think its ok to address the user list with problems your
having during upgrade, developers will be looking at this and we can try and
help you through these and I would strongly adivise to move all the way up to
the 2.1.x releases as there were lots of functional fixes and data fixes along
with new features.

Its hard to remember all the way back to 1.3, I think we cleared up the error
message around this in the latest mifos 2.2.
But as you say, its most likely to do with the way mifos is tied to meeting
schedules. So your group meets every other tuesday (just to be clear that means
tuesday every 2 weeks?), this meeting schedule is tied to the center meeting
schedule so if center meeting schedule was
Tues 19th July 2011
Tues 2nd Aug 2011
Tues 16th Aug 2011
and the group was then created/activated on say 30th of July, its meeting
schedule should match center schedule and start from:
Tues 2nd Aug 2011
Tues 16th Aug 2011
etc
mifos expects the disbursement to happen on the next meeting date after it has
being approved (i think) which should fall on one of these tuesday every 2
weeks dates, so with loan being approved on Tues 16th Aug 2011, expected
disbursement is Tues 30th Aug 2011 etc.
However, there were issues with support of loan schedule of the form every x
weeks, where x was greater than one, These issues may of existed all the way
back to 1.3 but they were fixed in 2.1.3 i believe.
It might be hard for you to test this yourself but would need to:
on test instance:
You might create a center/group/loan product where repayments are made every 1
week on tuesday and approve/disburse loan to see if it works correctly. (it
should)
then you can create a brand new center/group/loan product where repayments are
made every 2 weeks on tuesday and approve/disburse loan to see if it works (it
should)
where the problem came up before is if the group is created on the 'in
betweeen' week of the centers meeting schedule, so based on example above, if
the group was created and activated (not on 30th of july) but on 4th of Aug, it
would pick up the wrong meeting schedule and not match centers but be off by 1
week all the time.

We were entering a disbursal date in the future and were getting an "invalid
date" error.
The problem was the the group (as inherited from the Center) meets every OTHER
Tuesday, and we were asking for the wrong Tuesday.
How does Mifos determine which Tuesday you are starting with when you set up
group Schedule?
If I can't hemp them, it makes disbursals for all their group a bit of trial
and error.

As far as i understand this is something that is the norm on mifos.
Also noticed you are on 1.3.x version, there have been lots of improvements
added since then, it might be worth stepping through the upgrades to latest
stable version of mifos or are you locked on 1.3 for a reason?

We are using MIfos since 2009 but still we have confusion regarding the data
entry Or searching the exact work flow.
I require help how to match mifos with my daily field activity.
Daily Field activity.
Collection of KYC--->Screening (adding and substraction of KYC to full fill the
center limit ie 15, 20, 25 in multiple of 5)------->Three days training (CGT)---
------> after that GRT (fails or Pass) if Pass (till here we are not putting
any data into Mifos.
Problem is there we have to put data in mifos at the time of disbursement
because of CENTER MEETING day once it is given we have to disburse the loan on
same day.
Some times we have to disburse 300 member in a day and also made the
disbursements after giving the physical disbursement.because sometimes it is
possible that might be disbursement doesn't takes place.
Our desire how to work with Mifos.
After the screening of KYC we are assure that 99% chances of disbursement takes
place in particular center.
One Important thing that we are operating our operations like member active and
loans generation and disbursements centrally. Means these particular actions
has been done other than branch ie HUB.
In Mifos
We require to form a center with out center meeting day and forms a group and
clients into inactive stage.
As soon as the GRT takes place means Members are passed at that time we have to
change their stage as active (Still we don't require a center meeting day)
Now the loan approval stage HERE IT REQUIRES A CENTER MEETING DAY which does
not means to give a center meeting day here instead of that mifos will ask to
us on which date and day you want to disburse the loan OR on which day and date
you want to collect the EMIs IT IS LOGICAL because we meet with members only
for the collection on a particular day.
This process solve all the problems.
If you have any idea OR you have any other Modes operand ii please tell.
