I would be very grateful for help with an installation problem. I have installed Mifos on a server running Ubuntu-Server 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin"
Sun Java 1.7 was installed in /opt/java/32/jre1.7.0_10/ (The Oracle download site from which I fetched this recommended against continuing use of 1.6 but I can't find that page any more.) Until this point anything requiring Java had been running happily on OpenJDK, but the switch to Sun Java 1.7 didn't break anything I already had (which is as I would expect). Jetty was installed from jetty-distribution-7.6.8.v20121106.tar.gz (I couldn't find anything as old as 7.3) in /var/lib/jetty/ (Originally I used the Ubuntu package but that's incomplete so had to be purged.) Mifos was installed from mifos-v2.6.0.zip in /var/lib/jetty/webapps/ I was not able to follow the installation instructions in precise detail because not all package versions specified were available. However, Jetty runs fine on port 3300 and the root shows what I would expect at http://cyclone4u:3300/ (Ports 8080 and 8443 are in use by Tomcat, so I picked the unassigned ports 3300 and 3301 to replace 8080 and 8443 respectively.) The only problem appears to be in running Mifos. http://cyclone4u:3300/mifos takes me to the login page, but when I log in the browser displays the tail end of Mifos.log . The database appears to be connecting correctly. I have no experience whatsoever with Jetty and very little with Java applications, so I've I've reached the limits of what I can determine without clambering up a steep learning curve. I imagine the clues lie in Mifos.log. A quick scan suggests that not all is well, but I really have no idea how to interpret what's in there. Any suggestions or offers of help would be greatly appreciated.
