Hello everyone,
The 2014 Google Summer of Code application process is now open for
mentoring organizations. We had an incredibly successful
summer<http://mifos.org/community/news/2013-mifos-graduating-class-google-summer-code>last
year with our team of four interns - Anuruddha, Avik, Yanna, and
Andreas.
We're hoping to get accepted once again and bring on a larger team of
interns this year.
*Call for Mentors*
We would like to open the door to any of our technical contributors in the
community who might be interested in serving as GSoC mentor this year. It's
a very worthwhile and rewarding experience but it does require at least 5
hours/week commitment throughout the summer. Email me if interested in
mentoring.
*Call for Project Ideas*
We also invite any users, implementers, or developers to suggest potential
projects or ideas that students could work on - this list is the most
important part of our application. So if you've got a feature you've been
hoping to see, a technical enhancement the platform could use or simply an
idea you'd like to explore, add it to this hackpad where we're
brainstorming out ideas (or share it on the list):

We'll be having a call this upcoming to discuss and refine these ideas.
All chosen ideas will end up on our official 2014 Google Summer of Code
ideas page:
https://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/display/RES/Google+Summer+of+Code+2014+Ideas
Our application is due by February 14 so we'll need our ideas list complete
and our mentors chosen by then.
Thanks,
Ed
