No experience here with those routers, one thing we found though, even with
the $30 difference is it worth not having to drive to the customers premise
to fix a problem that they see as "your" problem? I'm not saying everyone
should do this or it is the process for everyone, but we have found that
just putting in a solid WRT54GL at the customers has taken our service calls
for failed routers down by a large margin. I would say in the 150-200
WRT54GL's that we have in place we've only had 3 need to be replaced. With
a D-Link router we had we were nearly 60% that we would have to drive out
there, replace it, then get it RMA'd with D-Link just to have another crappy
router to take out to the next guy that has a problem. The WRT54G v5+ that
we've had experience with has just been that the customer has to reboot the
router several times a day, we've tried new firmware (from linksys) with no
changes, that's why we moved.

Subject: [Mikrotik] Linksys wrt54g2

Hi Everybody:

Does anybody have any experience with the Linksys wrt54g2 routers, any
opinions on reliability, range, etc?

We have been upgrading our current refurbished wrt54g-v6/8's to dd-wrt which
is working out quite well. However we have been having a fairly high
turnover on these refurbished models. Also I hesitate to install dd-wrt on a
new unit as it will void the 3 year warranty.

I was planning on purchasing the wrt54gl's but they are $30 more and when we
order 10 of them at a time that works out to be a rather large difference in
price. If the g2's are any good I would like to use them.

Please let me know if you have any input.
