I believe that only works on the routerboard 150. Correct me if I'm
wrong (again).

If you are just switching only, there is a feature that allows you to
tie all your bridged ports together via a "master port". Supposedly,
this completely bypasses the CPU.

Yep it should. I am using a 450 with connection tracking, pptp vpn
server with routing to other subnets and have not had problem. This
includes a basic firewall to protect the router itself. I also use one
for routing from a server to another server with no problems. I also
plan to use two of them in the email I sent reference pptp/eoip. I
have not seen much on them so I really don't know how far you can push
them. But for the small tasks like this, I have used them without any
difficulty.

Where I was going with this was to make sure the 450 would be able
to handle
full speed Fast Ethernet switching or maybe basic routing.

yep does well on the ethernet side. Now a caveat. It will depend on
what else you have it doing and what rb model it is.

Well right.
I was wanting to confirm that a RouterBoard doesn't have enough nuts
to push
say 40 megs wirelessly (actual speed depends on the model), but that
same
RouterBoard could do the full 95 megs or whatever when it's Ethernet
only.

Not sure I understand what you are asking. They are faster on
ethernet
than wireless, I think that is a given by the nature of the
wireless
cards it uses. I assume you are using the cisco term of FE and if
that
is the case it will route FE (100mbs) on the ethernet side.

Do I remember correctly that RouterBoards have a much higher
Ethernet throughput than wireless? I was thinking that they could
route a full FE Ethernet to Ethernet, but not involving wireless.
