Thats been like that in Mikrotik ever since they came out with 5/10mhz channels. I've asked every mikrotik guy at the past few MUMs about it and none of them know why its happening..

5mhz channels see ghost AP's 20mhz above and below the correct/center freq.
10mhz channels see the ghost ap's 40mhz above/below.

It happens in both 2.4 and 5.x.

Miktotik station's see ghosted AP's from ubnt, mikrotik, and tranzeo AP's. UBNT/Tranzeo cpe's don't see any ghosts which tells me the problem is only in the Mikrotik.

I really wish Mikrotik would fix it.

Just the other day I ran into a weird issue with Mikrotik AP and CPE.

This is all in 5Ghz. Using 20 and 10mhz channels everything works as
expected. In 5mhz channels the AP shows up three times in the scan list
with difference center frequencies and strengths. If memory serves it did
connect, but I didn't want to leave it like that (hour drive one way).

The problem is that is no standard for 5/10 MHz channels. They came
about as a result of a happy accident in the Atheros Chipset and is not
covered in the IEEE spec. Whenever people wonder off the spec, these
things happen.

So each company sat down and wrote their code to work as well as they
could with their own radios. I doubt its malice on anyone's part, and I
suspect MT and Star-OS didn't even look at what the other was doing for
legal reasons. Lonnie wrote his code one way, MT another, both I'm sure
were trying to make their radios work well together. Tranzeo supports
both as a CPE, so it can be done. It just takes a lot of effort to
support the many ways of doing it released so far.

It's because ether MT or StarOS has written code to specifically not
talk to the other. I have not been able to determine who the offending

party is but if I figure out who, I will probably not buy any more
equipment from them. That kind of games do not belong in this
business. Not when they have much bigger problems to address.

If anyone knows more about who the offending party is, I would love to
hear it. When I asked UBNT about it, the quiet was absolute. When
I asked StarOS about it, there was some snippy remark. So no more

Weird one..
I am trying to get an RB112 with an atheros AR5213 card running 2.9.48
in it to associate to a StarOS AP running 10mhz channels. It doesn't
appear to see the StarOS unit at all. This is weird, as all of the
other CPE types that I have tried do not
have problems associating to this AP. My tech has noticed that this
problem also applies to 5ghz as well as 2.4ghz. Going to be a

problem

for me, as I am converting all of my APs to 10mhz channels.
I am upgrading to 3.30 to see if that helps.
