Of course, you should never use anything other than the "official" power
supply,  but this should be fine, UNLESS it one of the old 3 lb linear
bricks, which would be about 6 or 7 year old.    If it feel like you
could take down a deer with it, don't use it.

The switchers are all 18 V, 1 Amp output, In Rush well under the 26.5
volt mark.  

Never use our 24 with a MT, gets too close to the magic voltage at in
rush.

IF you verify that the power supply is putting out the correct load
voltage with a VOM...   If a transformer style PS shorts it can put out
a bunch more voltage than you want.  Check without a load if you want
and it shouldn't be more than 27 Volts  I keep some old 133c's around
just to test PS's after checking without load.   If it blows the 133, I
cut the cord off to reuse and toss the PS and the 133...  LOL
