What is the problem you have with backup/restore? As long as the
restore is to identical hardware, I have never had a failure from 2.8
upward.
The only problem I have with export/import is that they carry the MAC
addresses along. What else is a problem?

Dude seems to have been abandoned with a broken final release.
Everything they've released in the last 12 months seems to be total
junk to me, based on my experience and what I've read.
The rb400 worked so well. Coming from the 1xx and 5xx I fell in love
with the 4xx.
I'm just not giving much faith in Mikrotik's future. They're doing
betas of v6 and calling v5.15 stable. I'd never heard of a router
rebooting under load until Travis mentioned it. I've never had so
many problems with a router (751) that keeps rebooting, bricking, etc.
I've had less problems with Dlink, though I'm not saying they're
comparable products.
Hopefully it's just bad luck, time will tell.

I am not firewalling the port at all, tried disabling every firewall

that work DO work.. and the ones that don't work DON'T.. they both have
identical configs from a firewall/FTP perspective. Google didn't lead me
anywhere helpful. Any ideas?
