Many of the 400 series have over voltage protection on the POE port.
I know because we have had guys replace RB112 running at 48 with 411 and
then change the power supply

amen. at LEAST throw a resistor on the routerboards to cut the 48
down to 24 in case one of our idiots plugs in a routerboard 4xx to a
Poe switch.

I really wish everyone would get with the program and do 802.3af or at across
the board.

Subject: Re: [Mikrotik] 532 Routerboard Replacement ?
because we have "normal" Poe switches everywhere. all put out 48v -
it's a standard you know - that was the other reason I liked the 532's
:(
oh, this is why I hate Ubiquiti too. well, dislike, cause their gear
rocks. until the uap-pro we were refusing to go with unifi.

Sure, with an adapter. http://routerboard.com/RBPOE-CON-HP
But why would you?
I believe only the RB-800 supports 802.3af.

We only use the 433s. More ram, and you don't need to use the extra ports.
Fewer items to stock.
Can somebody explain to me the difference in capability between the RB433 and
RB433L? Comparing the spec sheets, they appear to be identical, except you get
a voltage monitor on the LESS expensive one.
