So better, but still not as good as proprietary roaming techniques in use years and years ago?

On top of that, each vendor / driver coder was able to set their own thresholds for what they felt was a "bad enough" connection to go looking elsewhere. Sure, some drivers let you tell your NIC to be more prone to check for better connections but there certainly isn't' a way for you to know given the variety of user equipment how the users devices will behave. 802.11AC allows the AP's to work together, the way it works is the AP the client needs to drop simply stops servicing that client's requests, causing it to go in search of another AP. Client radio and its "roaming" capabilities. B. Operating system. I have built many systems having outdoor and indoor APs closely spaced with the same SSID. Windows has issues lots of times choosing. When I would do testing (drive testing) I would use a particular Ubiquiti PC Card radio known for its roaming abilities. That said, I'll soon be installing an indoor 802.11AC system with 1000+ APs all using the same SSID. Needless to say it will not be Mikrotik and the antennas will be panels pointed straight down. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Damai Sent: Tuesday, October 01, 2013 10:48 PM To: Mikrotik discussions Subject: [Mikrotik] Multiple AP with same SSID Dear All, The situation is something like this: There is a big house, it seems one access point would not cover all the area. So we plan to install two or more access point. All these APs linked with UTP cables. So when the UserA is in RoomA, connecting to AP-A, it get full signal from AP-A. Then he moves to RoomB, where the signal from AP-A is low (1-2 Bar), and the signal from AP-B is full. So UserA device will still connect to AP-A(existing connection) or automatically connect to AP-B(better signal)? AP-A and AP-B should using the same SSID? What we want is: the device will automatically switch to the best signal. Is it depending on the user's device OS? Any idea? Thanks.
