you're right... how confusing... I wish they were named things like
filter_oninitialconnection (no equivalent)
filter_onhelo (no equivalent)
filter_onmailfrom (filter_relay or filter_sender)
filter_onrcptto (filter_recipient)
filter_ondata_init (filter_begin)
filter_ondata_mimepart (filter)
filter_ondata_finish (filter_end)
that would make it a lot easier to tell what happens where.
