Having been on both sides of disappearing mail, I hate mail being discarded. That's why the rejection at the SMTP level is so nice. > If somebody else is generating bounces on messages that I reject, > I don't care. It isn't my problem. If it's actually ham, but triggers a false positive, then all is well - it goes back to a legit sender. If it's bulk, the sender can deal with it or whatever. > In my opinion, SPF creates far more problems then it solves, which > is pretty much none. Thus I won't use it. I agree, a pass is not reason to reduce the overall score on an unknown domain. I will subtract 1 point for known domains, such as local ISPs. Failling messages when the domain owner has "-all" on their record is valid, and has only generated one call for me and I just told them that the sender needs to configure their mail client correctly. _______________________________________________ Visit http://www.mimedefang.org and http://www.canit.ca MIMEDefang mailing list [email protected] http://lists.roaringpenguin.com/mailman/listinfo/mimedefang
