Sendmail is an MTA and has no LDA capabilities. So it will never store /
write to the mail spool itself. The local mailer does this, often
Procmail plays this role.
I can't say something specific to the Sendmail and local mailer setup on
HP-UX, but the permissions noted above look proper.
