I experienced identical behaviour: a reload of mimedefang caused the various errors with slaves dying "Slave 1 stderr: Undefined subroutine &main::do_main_loop called at /usr/bin/mimedefang.pl"
I read that the bug is fixed in MD 2.65 and that 2.67 is out so I've upgraded to that but the behaviour remains.
I noted the reference to Debian HPPA architecture in the bugreport. I'm not using that, simply an intel box.
