The sock file exists and is owned by postfix.

Could it be a transient startup problem? How about permissions on the
parent directories? Try:

        ls -ld / /var /var/spool /var/spool/MIMEDefang

to see if any permissions are wrong.

Hi David
Thanks for your response. The permissons seems to be right:

mx02:/var/spool/MIMEDefang# ls -ld / /var /var/spool /var/spool/MIMEDefang
drwxr-xr-x 21 root root 4096 Feb 23 15:29 /
drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 Nov 19 2010 /var
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Jun 14 17:03 /var/spool
drwxr-x--- 3 postfix postfix 4096 Jun 14 17:06 /var/spool/MIMEDefang

It is a problem from postfix (2.7.1) version and or mimedefang (2.69) version?

Thanks a lot

Marco
