I think in the end, our threads on gun control are misleading; what we're really asking is, how do we end violence? Those who seek to ban firearms think that because handguns are a tool of violence, it will intrinsically reduce it. Because those in favor of gun possession seek to prevent violence to themselves, they see having handguns as a tool to end violence. We're all chasing the same thing. What is the underlying cause of human violence? Is it truly testosterone (as it seems to be predominantly, although not entirely, male driven)? Are there truly any solutions to diminish violence?
